Catch up... Over Coffee

Just a quick catch up of some of the things i have been up to since my last post! To be honest university has occupied most of my time, working hard day in, day out...I guess this is training me up for real work in the future right?! haha. Hard work still deserves some time to relax right? I can't imagine anything better than a nice cup of coffee and some comfort food to fill me up and get my engines going!

Coffee outside V&A museum

One of my favourite exhibitions in London! Steampunk, gothic and eerie romance...that is me summed up!

Barista art... this is on my 'to learn' list...any offers to teach me?

Enjoying a rose lemonade

Delicious Lebanese food!

1920s slip dress showcased at the V&A

Since my last blog, there have been many celebrations... birthdays, engagements, anniversaries... I've been able to share some special moments with the people i love!

Coffee, tea and memories with old friends...

Waiting for my nice cup of English brew...

A few cups of coffee is definitely needed to get me through these books!

Starbucks, Prêt a Manger, Costa... I really am a coffee addict! Although I would much rather support local cafes...

Silly times with coffee...ahhhhhhh....

Reservation pour trois svp...

My friends and I are complete foodies and we have been anticipating to try the Michelin star restaurant by head chef Pascal Nibaudeau ever since we booked our holiday. Table was booked... and we ate very light and bland during the day to saviour our tastebuds!  The restaurant was situated on the 1st floor of the Grand Hotel so we enjoyed a few aperitifs before we sat down on our table. Although the setting was formal, the staff were so friendly and even gave us a little souvenir at the end to make our dinner that little more special.

Entrees.. lobster macaron(absolutely amazing), savoury chocolate bite,
Tempura herbs, breadsticks with a mustard mayonnaise dip.

Amuse Bouche...lobster and butter sauce

Sea bass and Aquitaine caviar with oysters and a sour cream sauce.

Wild Turbot roasted on the bone and oyster béarnaise and two different
sauces, red wine and Choron sauce.

Palette cleanser: Melon puree with mint ice cream.

Dessert- Lemon and Raspberry Vacherin... to be honest i didn't really
know what i was ordering at apart from the fact i knew it was going to be lemon and raspberries haha...when it turned out so pretty, i was really happy.

Artisan Soap

I'm not usually a massive fan of soaps and fragrances etc.  I am relatively low key when it comes to bath products, a natural soap from boots would do fine for me. I am definitely no 'Jo Malone' girl. With fragrances, well... i am currently using the same ones as i did since i was in high school! I only wear perfume on special occasions or when i actually remember to. Don't get me wrong, i don't like to smell like sweat or anything, but anything that is too strong or sweet will give me a headache for hours. I am definitely a 'natural' girl when it comes to soaps and fragrances, but i found my heart skipping a heartbeat when i saw this lovely little shop in York. It may be a small family run business which started off in a kitchen, but their attention to detail and creativity makes them truly a one off! Even royalty has visited their shop!

I absolutely love cakes in general and to find out that they have made bath products to look like the most delicious treat, you can imagine how excited i got. Not only do they look fantastic, the most important thing is that they all smell wonderful... NATURAL...SIMPLE... and not artificial. Everything is hand made with love and you can truly tell the amount of effort and hours they have put into their family business.
